A "Bay Class" ship built for the Royal Australian Navy,

Rushcutter is a unique vessel and formed part of the RAN mine warfare capability prior to the introduction of the current "Huon" class. 

Although six ships were planned, only two were completed and the first, Rushcutter and has the distinction of being the first "minehunter" designed and built in Australia.

Ironically Rushcutter was often used "showcase" both ideas and technology in naval service, she now has the ability again to draw peoples attention towards an area, promotion of relevant products or add to the preservation of Australian Naval history.
